Challenge
After years of performing as Rosie Soul and the Rock N’ Roll Cowboys, they returned from a brief hiatus with a new lineup and a new direction: Rosie Soul Presents: Stand Up & Shout - A Tribute to the Greatest Rock Songs in History. The challenge was to move beyond their established cowboy identity and create a new brand that captured the power, rebellion, and raw energy of rock ’n’ roll. The band tasked us with designing a new logo and capturing new imagery that needed to look and feel fearless and defiant.

New logo, photography, simple social media banners, and t-shirt design.
Research
The band provided an image for inspiration of a woman surrounded by her band with clouds and light, so we used this as a starting point for our mood-board, and gathered a collection of some of the most recognized rock band logos as well as images that we felt evoked power and energy. This allowed us to get an idea of what type of photos we wanted to capture, including how we could use light and expressions to help convey power and fury.
Design
Of all our research on band logos, Metallica’s logo stood out the most and helped guide the overall direction for the logo design. The letters in their logo are stretched out, tall and reaching- which felt like it lended itself to the words “stand up and shout.” In addition, the letters lean, creating an almost 3-D effect that give the illusion of grand and powerful. For our design, we decided to “stand up” the part of the logo that reads “stand up” and lean/stretch the word “shout” so that it appears to echo out and come for you. The stretch also allowed space for the remaining words in the name. The devil horns on the word “shout” are a small tribute to their original band, in which the singer was known for wearing devil horns during shows.
Photography
The mood board established the visual direction for the shoot, where we combined flash photography with the band’s own all-black styling to create a dramatic, high-contrast aesthetic. Fans were used to introduce movement and energy, while a reflective door provided a dynamic backdrop that helped us to frame and separate the subjects. The lead singer’s commanding expression and powerful stance reinforce the concept of intensity, while her outstretched arms create a sense of invitation, drawing the viewer into the performance.
